robotic partial nephrectomy

diagnosis of the problem

Patients may present with kidney cancer with blood in the urine (haematuria), back pain or as an incidental finding during investigation for other conditions.

Investigations carried out by the urologist include CT scans, which can demonstrate the kidney system and tumour size and position. A renogram may also be arranged which indicates how much function is present in the kidneys. Blood tests will also be ordered to assess kidney function.
